Seismic Earth is a 3D globe of real earthquakes, read live from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and drawn with WebGPU. The default view shows every earthquake of magnitude 5.0 or more worldwide over the last five years, about 9,000 events.
Each earthquake is drawn as a spike: taller for a larger magnitude, coloured by depth. A time-lapse replays the period, and a search box turns the globe to any city or country. Other ranges are available, from the past 30 days to large earthquakes since 2000.
Nothing is stored or altered: the catalogue is read live from the USGS FDSN Event API. Coastlines, borders and cities come from Natural Earth.
