How we handle your details
We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. This page says exactly what is kept and why.
When you write to us
The contact form asks for your name, an email address or phone number, and your message. It also records which page you sent it from and what the enquiry is about. The careers form asks for your name, email, phone number if you give one, a link to your CV and work, and the areas that interest you.
We use these details only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry or application. They are stored securely and can be read only by our staff. We keep them while the conversation or application is open, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
If you contact us on WhatsApp or by email instead, that conversation is held by WhatsApp or by our email provider under their own terms.
How visits are counted
We count visits to understand which pages and products people are interested in. We do this without cookies and without storing your IP address.
- Each browser gets an anonymous id that changes every day. It is made from your connection details and a secret key, then the connection details are thrown away. The same person cannot be followed from one day to the next.
- We record the page, the site you came from (its name only), your country and city as reported by our hosting provider, the kind of device and browser, your language and screen width, how long you stayed and how far you scrolled, and any words you type into the site search.
- We also count clicks on buttons such as WhatsApp, email, share and "Open the demo".
- If you agree when the site asks about visit statistics, your browser keeps a random number for this site. It is not made from your details, and it lets us see when someone comes back on another day. If you say no, you are still counted in the anonymous daily way above. You can change your choice at any time with the "Visit statistics" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted and nothing is kept.
- Visit records are deleted automatically after 13 months.
Our product and demo sites on larkode.com addresses count visits in the same cookie-free way, recording the page, country, type of device and the site you came from.
Cookies
Visitors get no cookies from this website. The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for our own staff, used on the staff pages. If you agree to visit statistics, the random number described above is kept in your browser's storage for this site, and your choice is remembered the same way, so we do not ask again.
Who else is involved
The website runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver the pages and protect the site. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page loads and page speed without cookies and without storing your IP address. We do not share your details with anyone else, and we do not sell them.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will reply within a few working days.
Our apps and client systems
This page covers the larkode.com website. Systems we build for clients, such as a school's or a clinic's own system, hold that organisation's records on its behalf, and that organisation decides how they are used.
